Until recently, the last time Tyler Childers posted on Instagram was on September 18, 2020. That post was made to showcase his album Long Violent History. The album went on to claim the sixth spot on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart and peaked at the 45th spot on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart.

All of the net proceeds from Long Violent History were donated to the Hickman Holler Appalachian Relief Fund.

After two years of silence, Childers returned to social media on September 2 of this year. He posted a 15-second preview of what fans assumed to be a music video.

The video didn’t include a caption. But Childers’ fans and fellow artists could tell it was hinting at something big.

A few days later, Childers posted a two-minute trailer for the music video on YouTube and social media.

On Wednesday (September 7), Childers confirmed these clips were from the music video for his new song, “Angel Band.” He said the song would be released early on Thursday morning (September 8).

Childers also teased “some other big news” he had to share on Thursday.

Well today is the day…”Angel Band” is finally here for everyone to hear and enjoy. Childers released two versions of the song, the first being called the “Hallelujah Version” and the second being called the “Jubilee Version.”

The “Jubilee Version” is the one you hear in the official music video, which is over six minutes in length. The “Hallelujah Version” is audio only.

Notice the cover art in the “Hallelujah Version” video? That’s part of the other big news Childers had to share.

Childers started posting pieces of the album cover on Instagram one by one. By the time the whole thing came together, it was revealed that the new album’s title is Can I Take My Hounds to Heaven?

He shared additional information about the album in his Instagram bio. It’s being released on September 30 and is available for pre-order and pre-save now.
