In May 2020, Chelsie Ashley of Adair, Oklahoma was getting ready for the day when she heard her doorbell ring. She checked the app on her phone to view the footage from her front porch camera, and saw something that touched her heart.

The footage showed her UPS driver, Trent, stopping by to deliver a package. He placed the package in front of the door, rang the doorbell, then turned around to leave.

But something made him pause before he hopped back into his truck. He noticed the American flag displayed on the porch had gotten tangled in the wind, so he stopped to fix it.

The camera captured Trent’s every move as he took the flag down, carefully unfurled it, and then placed it back in its spot. He even gave the flag a quick pat before he left to make sure it was completely loose and able to flow freely in the breeze.

Chelsie was moved by the footage, especially since it was just days before Memorial Day. She shared the video of Trent’s kind action on Facebook, writing, “The hero of today is my UPS driver!! My USA flag was rolled up so he stopped and fixed it before he left.”

Speaking to FOX 23 News, Chelsie said Trent fixed her flag out of the goodness of his heart, not because he thought he was being watched.

He didn’t know anyone was watching him, but he just did it just to do it,” she said. “I thought it was so cool what he was doing when no one was looking.”

It seems that many other people thought Trent’s actions were “so cool” as well. She had also uploaded the video to TikTok, and paired it with Toby Keith‘s “Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue.”
