[VIDEO] NASCAR Driver Connor Zilisch Falls From His Car While Celebrating Race Win

Connor Zilisch was taken to the hospital after falling head-first out of his car just moments after crossing the finish line.
Connor Zilisch claimed his sixth win of the season on Saturday (August 9) at the NASCAR Xfinity Series Mission 200 at Watkins Glen. The 19-year-old driver was climbing out of his car in victory lane when he took a nasty tumble. Video shows Zilisch climbing onto the driver’s door when his feet got tangled in the netting, causing him to lose his balance and fall head-first onto the pavement.

Zilisch lay motionless, seemingly knocked out by the fall. Medical personnel rushed to the driver and loaded him onto a stretcher. He was taken to the infield care center for further evaluation before being transported to a local hospital.

Connor Zilisch updated fans on his condition.
Zilisch shared an update to social media later that evening, saying that he had been released from the hospital and had suffered a broken collarbone.
“Thank you everybody for reaching out today. I’m out of the hospital and getting better already. Thankfully, CT scans for my head are clear, I just have a broken collarbone. Thankful for all the medics for quick attention and grateful it wasn’t any worse,” Connor wrote in a message on X.

Zilisch was scheduled to compete in Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Watkins Glen International. His team, Trackhouse Racing, announced late Saturday that he would not be competing due to Saturday’s accident.
He will return to the track on August 22 when he is scheduled to compete in the Wawa 250 Powered By Coca-Cola held at Daytona International Speedway.
