Walker Hayes & Kane Brown Join Together For A Powerful New Song

Country stars Walker Hayes and Kane Brown have united to release a faith-filled, inspiring new song.

The tune, titled “Songs for My Son”, is part of Hayes’s fifth studio album, 17 Problems, which dropped on Friday (August 22).

Hayes explained on his social media that the track is a prayer to God for every dad “still figuring it out.”

“I don’t really love praying out loud.  It’s tough for me to just focus on my conversation with the Lord, and not think how people listening could potentially be “grading” my performance,” the singer shared. “And I’m probably, in a weird way, grading myself.  I know it’s not a performance and I should only fear the Lord himself but I’m just being honest here…”

The song has an ubbeat, fun, meaningful melody, with Hayes sharing adorable clips from both himself and Brown with their children.

“Jesus, please just, come on back I need ya,” the lyrics state.

Walker Hayes & His Beautiful Family

Hayes is a devoted family man, sharing life with his wife Laney and their seven children, three sons and four daughters. Their sons are named Chapel, Baylor, and Beckett. The couple’s daughters are named Lela, Loxley, Everly and Oakleigh. Oakleigh tragically passed away as a newborn.

The country star frequently gives fans a peek into his family life on social media, where his kids and wife often make appearances. His daughter Lela even helped launch his hit “Fancy Like” with a TikTok dance video that went viral.

Hayes often mentions how much his wife and children mean to him, admitting to Southern Living that he takes them everywhere. He says their love and support not only ground him, but often inspire his music and career.

Kane Brown Is A Proud Father To Three

In June 2024, Brown and his wife Katelyn welcomed their third child, Krewe Allen Brown, joining their older daughters, Kingsley Rose and Kodi Jane.

The country star often gushes over his kids, admitting he has loved giving his children the life he wished for when he was young.

“I’m excited to see where they go in life,” Brown shared on the Viall Files podcast.“But I was also really excited to give them a life that I never had and to just be a role model.”

Brown’s own father has been incarcerated since 1996, when he was just around three years old.

While he has never had a true relationship with his own father, Brown shared a special bond with his late grandfather, whom he referred to as “Granddaddy.”

When the singer’s grandfather passed away in 2016, he even decided to write a sweet song in his honor.

Granddaddy’s Chair” is a slow melody reflecting on the bond of a young boy and his grandfather, and the lifelong memories the two share.
