Watch As An Attempt To Knock Down A Bold-Faced Hornet Nest Goes Wrong
on Aug 23, 2022
Known for hitting its victims with some of the most painful insect stings known to man, the bald-faced hornet is aggressive and not one to be messed with. It makes sense that most humans would want to stay away from bald-faced hornets–especially when there’s a nest of them ready to attack as a group.

That being said, humans make silly choices, as evidenced by the gentlemen in the video below. In the video, you’ll see the two men take their boat up to a nest of bald-faced hornets, making tons of noise that lets the hornets know that their nest is threatened. From there, one of the men strikes the nest with a boat oar.

When hornets feel that their lives are at risk, they fight back–and that’s exactly what happened in this video. The man who struck the nest was stung repeatedly, and you can get an idea of the pain he’s feeling as you listen to the video. Unlike bees, bald-faced hornets do not have barbed stingers, meaning they’re capable of stinging their victim over and over again.
We don’t recommend you try anything like this…
