Hulk Hogan Has Passed Away

Wrestling icon Hulk Hogan has passed away at the age of 71, according to a report from TMZ.

Sources say medics were called to Hogan’s home in Clearwater, Florida, early Thursday morning, July 24, in response to a reported cardiac arrest.

First responders arrived at the scene quickly, and the wrestling legend was taken from his home on a stretcher and into an ambulance.

In a news conference held Thursday afternoon, Clearwater Police Maj. Nate Burnside confirmed that Hogan died at 11:17 a.m.

He also stated there were no signs of foul play or anything suspicious surrounding his death.

Since his passing, Hulk Hogan’s family has broken their silence through a statement on social media. The statement reads:

“It is with a heavy heart and deep sadness that we confirm we have lost a legend. Our beloved Terry Bollea, known worldwide as Hulk Hogan, passed away today surrounded by his loved ones. At this time of grief, we ask that everyone please respect the privacy of his family and friends. May we all take solace in the wonderful memories he left behind for the millions of fans worldwide whose lives he touched for more than four decades. He will be missed, but never forgotten.”

Hogan had undergone a neck procedure back in May. The surgery was reportedly a success, and he was said to have recovered quickly. However, last month, US Weekly reported that Hogan had undergone a serious heart surgery, according to sources.

At this time, this has not been confirmed by Hogan’s representatives.

Hogan has talked about his past health struggles before and officially retired from wrestling in 2012 because of them.

During an episode of Impaulsive last year, he told Logan Paul that the toll wrestling took on his body led to more than 25 surgeries over the years.

“I’ve had 10 back surgeries, both knees and both hips replaced, shoulders…everything.”

Following his death, WWE has posted a statement acknowledging the passing of one of its most famed wrestlers in history.

“WWE is saddened to learn WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan has passed away. One of pop culture’s most recognizable figures, Hogan helped WWE achieve global recognition in the 1980s. WWE extends its condolences to Hogan’s family, friends, and fans.”

Hogan’s real name is Terry Gene Bollea. He is survived by his wife, Sky Daily, and his two children, Brooke and Nick.

This is a breaking news story. More details to come.

Remembering Hulk Hogan’s Legacy

Hulk Hogan rose to fame in the 1980s as one of the most recognized wrestlers in the world after signing with the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), which would later become known as WWE.

Hogan helped transform professional wrestling with a number of iconic matches.

He was the first wrestler to win back-to-back Royal Rumble matches in 1990 and 1991, and his 1988 showdown with André the Giant still holds the record for the most-watched wrestling match on American Television, drawing in 33 million viewers.

His trademark bandana and blonde handlebar mustache became a well-known symbol in the world of wrestling entertainment. For decades, fans have worn them proudly to matches, which helped Hogan become one of the most recognized athletes in the sport.
