Taylor Sheridan To Build A Massive Studio In Texas
Taylor Sheridan, the Texas-based creator behind hit series like Yellowstone, 1923, Tulsa King, Lawmen: Bass Reeves, and the upcoming Landman, is teaming up with Paramount to build what he claims will be the largest film and TV studio in Texas.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the new production campus, located in Fort Worth’s Alliance area, spans 450,000 square feet and includes state-of-the-art sound stages, production offices, post-production facilities, and more.
Sheridan is reportedly building the studio through his company SGS Studios, in partnership with Paramount Television and real estate developer Hillwood.
“SGS Studios isn’t just about sound stages or incentives — it’s about reclaiming the independence and grit that built this industry in the first place,” Sheridan said in a statement. “Texas offers something rare: the space to dream big, the freedom to build fast, and a community that still believes storytelling matters.”
The facility can maintain four major productions at once and is already being used for shows like Landman and Special Ops: Lioness.
“In order for us to have the space to create the worlds that Taylor, Paramount and 101 Studios envision, we need world-class facilities and partners,” Keri Panichi Flint, Paramount’s head of global production, said.

Hollywood Comes To Texas
The decision follows Texas’ recent move to strengthen its film and television incentive program, part of a broader effort by Southern states to become top destinations for media and entertainment productions seeking subsidies.
Earlier this summer, Texas increased its funding by $100 million, bringing the state’s total allocation to Hollywood to $300 million every two years. With funding now approved through 2035, the program could provide up to $1.5 billion in cash grants to productions over the next decade.
“We are at a pivotal moment where Texas can become a global force in the film industry, and North Texas offers the location and resources to play a central role in this development,” Hillwood president Mike Berry said in a statement. “We have the infrastructure in place to grow jobs exponentially and produce thousands of future film industry workers, and with our partners, we have already started providing training for the specialty skills this workforce sector requires.”
For over a decade, Fort Worth’s film commission has been steadily working to raise the city’s profile and break free from the shadow of neighboring Dallas. According to the Star-Telegram, the commission has supported more than 1,000 productions, generating over $700 million in economic impact for the city.
“This partnership between Hillwood and SGS Studios is an exciting moment for Fort Worth and District 10,” city council member Alan Blaylock said. “As the largest operating studio facility in Texas, the project will create quality jobs, attract talent, and boost local businesses while showcasing our city as a premier destination for media production.”
