Is The Yellowstone Spin-Off 6666 Happening?

For years, there has been talk of a 6666 show entering the Yellowstone universe. But plans to make it happen don’t appear to be in motion.

Word of a 6666 spin-off, centered on the legendary 6666 (Four Sixes) ranch in Texas, has been circulating since 2021. The idea wasn’t far-fetched, as Yellowstone referenced (and went to) Four Sixes, and show creator Taylor Sheridan leads the group that owns the ranch in real life.

Variety published a report on 6666 in 2022, which included an official synopsis. It read:

“Founded when Comanches still ruled West Texas, no ranch in America is more steeped in the history of the West than the 6666. Still operating as it did two centuries before, and encompassing an entire county, the 6666 has inspired a new scripted series where the rule of law and the laws of nature merge in a place where the most dangerous thing one does is the next thing. The 6666 is synonymous with the merciless endeavor to raise the finest horses and livestock in the world, and ultimately where world-class cowboys are born and made.”

However, by 2023, the Four Sixes series was “on hold.” During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that year, Sheridan explained why it was taking so long to bring the show to life.

That, for a number of reasons, needs a unique level of special care because this is a real place with real families working here. You have to respect the lineage. I’ve told [the studio] to be patient.

Jefferson White Shares What He Knows About The 6666 Spin-Off

Yellowstone ended in 2024, and Sheridan has remained busy working on other spin-offs and shows, including Lioness, Tulsa King, Landman, and 1923.

Now, the fate of 6666 seems even shakier as Sheridan plans to end his longtime relationship with Paramount to strike a new deal with NBCUniversal. His current deal still lasts for a few years, so fans don’t need to worry about already established series.

But what about the Four Sixes show? Jefferson White, who played Jimmy on Yellowstone, was rumored to be one of the main characters on the spin-off. So you’d think if anyone knows anything about the show, he would be the guy.

Unfortunately, White didn’t have promising things to say about 6666 when it came up during a recent interview with the Daily Mail.

“‘Not that I know of now…” White said when asked if he’d be appearing in another show in the Yellowstone universe. “I kept my fingers crossed, but also, I’d be grateful if I got to do more and I’m grateful for what I got to do. I don’t want to be selfish. We got a lot of great mileage out of that show.‘”

A Kayce Dutton-Centered Spin-Off, Y:Marshals, Will Premiere In Early 2026

While a 6666 series may never come to fruition, other Yellowstone spin-offs have been given the green light. Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler will have their own show. A connected series, The Madison, starring Michelle Pfeiffer, has been in the works for a while.

Another series, which is only a few months away from premiering, will follow Kayce Dutton. Called Y: Marshals, the program will debut on CBS on Sunday, March 1.

A teaser trailer for Y: Marshals shows Kayce (played by Luke Grimes) searching for “a new beginning.” Watch that trailer below.
