After three and a half years of traveling, Garth Brooks wrapped up his record-breaking World Tour in December 2017. Since then, the reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year has remained fairly hidden, leaving everyone to anticipate his next move.
Thanks to his weekly Inside Studio G live sessions on Facebook, fans have learned that Brooks has been hard at work in the studio. Because of this, everyone has been anxiously waiting for an album announcement to come.
Brooks’ last album, Gunslinger, was released in 2016, and contained the singles “Ask Me How I Know” and “Baby Let’s Lay Down and Dance.” Now that two years have passed, fans are itching to hear new music from him, and it sounds like they won’t have to wait much longer.
On Monday (June 4), Brooks shared the news that fans have been waiting for during his Inside Studio G session. While he didn’t reveal a date or a title, he did confirm that yes, a new album is on the way.
Brooks promised that fans would hear new music from him on country radio sometime soon. He also shared the reason why he’s prepping new music. What he had to say was an even bigger announcement than the album news!
As Brooks revealed, he is currently in the process of planning a new tour! But before he hits the road again, he wants to have new music to play for his fans, hence the album news.
So what do we know about Brooks’ upcoming tour at this point? Well, not a lot.
Brooks remained fairly mum about details, but did say that it would be on a “whole different level” than other tours. He also said that the tour dates would be announced in batches throughout the year, because he wants fans to have time to plan out their trips to see his shows.
If you thought that was a huge announcement, just wait, because Brooks had even more to share!
As if the Inside Studio G session wasn’t exciting enough, Brooks revealed some more good news while he was live. He is going to be at CMA Fest in Nashville!
But don’t expect to hear Brooks perform during his time at CMA Fest. His special appearance at the Close Up Stage on Saturday (June 9) is actually part of a Q&A session with SiriusXM’s Storme Warren. Brooks will answer questions from the audience during that session
Of course, that Q&A is sure to provide the answers to many questions concerning Brooks’ new music and tour. So we may end up learning even more about those two things than we know right now!
