Zach Top Performs Faithful Cover Of “Seminole Wind,” Honoring Late John Anderson
on

Zach Top may only be 29 years old, but he has a sincere appreciation for the country artists who came before him.
This was on full display this past weekend, as he tackled an iconic song by a recently deceased legend of country music.
Performing “Seminole Wind” by John Anderson, who died at the age of 71 on Oct. 21, Zach Top didn’t miss a beat.
However, Top isn’t one to just play a song like John Anderson’s “Seminole Wind” when an artist passes away. Weeks before Anderson died, Top performed “Seminole Wind” as a duet with country singer Jake Worthington.

At his show on Oct. 24 in Rogers, Arkansas, Zach Top honored the late John Anderson with a faithful cover of his 1992 hit song “Seminole Wind.”
The song has been on the rise since news of Anderson’s death, with “Seminole Wind” being one of three Anderson songs to enter the top 20 on the Billboard Digital Song Sales chart.
In an Oct. 27 executive order signed by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, “Seminole Wind” was also named the official state anthem of Florida.
Notably, the song by Anderson prominently features fiddle, and Top has a fiddler in his band, named Ryan Joseph.
This fiddler happens to have previously played fiddle for Alan Jackson…
In the comments on the video of his performance, this — unsurprisingly — inspired many fans to continue a long-running joke that Alan Jackson is Zach Top’s father.
When someone on TikTok confirmed Top’s fiddler had previously played for Jackson, one person replied, “Makes sense since Alan Jackson is his dad.”
Regardless, the performance was remarkable.
Many fans noted that, like many of Top’s performances, it felt like it was straight out of the ’90s rather than a contemporary country concert.
