Released on his 2016 EP Can I Get An Outlaw, Luke Combs co-wrote his clever single “Sheriff You Want To” with Lainey Wilson, Channing Wilson, and Rob Snyder. Lainey also provided backup vocals for the track.
Marcus King, “Here Today”
“Here Today” was released on Marcus King’s 2025 album Darling Blue and featured fellow country stars Jamey Johnson and Kaitlin Butts. Marcus and Lainey co-wrote the song with singer/songwriter Meg McRee.
Lauren Alaina, “Those Kind of Women”
Lainey Wilson wrote “Those Kind of Women” with Monty Criswell, Derek George, and Lynn Hutton. It was released by Lauren Alaina as a single in 2025 ahead of her 2026 album, Stages, and honors powerful women who taught her to be the woman she is today.
MacKenzie Porter, “Chasing Tornadoes”
Canadian country singer MacKenzie Porter, who is now one half of country music duo Thelma & James, released “Chasing Tornadoes” on her 2024 debut album Nobody’s Born With a Broken Heart. Lainey co-wrote the song with Emily Landis and Jamie Moore, and it reached number one on the Mediabase Canada Country chart.
Flatland Cavalry & Hailey Whitters, “…Meantime”
Flatland Cavalry lead singer Cleto Cordero co-wrote “…Meantime” with Lainey Wilson. The song focuses on living in the present moment and was included on the group’s 2021 album Welcome to Countryland. Hailey Whitters is a featured vocalist.
Ashley McBryde, “Cool Little Bars”
Fellow country music powerhouses Ashley McBryde and Lainey Wilson teamed up to write “Cool Little Bars” from Ashley’s 2023 album The Devil I Know. The song pays tribute to the “dives, holes in the wall, and often locals-only establishments that shaped the early days of her career.”
Ashley Cooke & Jackson Dean, “What Are You on Fire About”
The heartbreak ballad, “What Are You On Fire About,” was written by Lainey Wilson, Jason Nix, and Luke Dick, the latter of whom also co-wrote the record-breaking song “Choosin’ Texas.” Ashley Cooke welcomed Jackson Dean as her duet partner and included the track on her 2023 album Shot in the Dark.
Ashland Craft, “Night Owl”
Lainey Wilson joined songwriters Ashland Craft and Shane Minor to write “Night Owl,” an ode to those who find their inspiration “in the dead of night.” Ashland released the song in October 2023.
Annie Bosko, “Hate The Way You Love Me”
Lainey Wilson wrote “Hate The Way You Love Me” along with Matt Rogers and Bobby Hamrick. Annie Bosko released the ballad in late 2025 as part of her recent album California Cowgirl.
Chrissy Metz, “Girl Go”
Chrissy Metz is known for her acting roles in shows including This Is Us and films such as Breakthrough. Some fans may not know that she has released multiple singles and two full-length children’s albums. In 2021, Chrissy released “Girl Go,” which she co-wrote with Lainey Wilson, Faren Rachels, and Dan Fernandez.
