1. She was voted “least likely to succeed” in high school.

The woman who would become a global superstar was once considered unlikely to succeed by her high school peers. In 2017, when Dolly Parton learned that the University of Tennessee was offering a history course about her life and cultural influence, she wrote online:

“From the girl voted in High School ‘least likely to succeed’ this sure is a blessing!”

2. She never rode on any of the rides at her theme park, Dollywood.

Dollywood theme park employs around 4,000 people and is the largest employer in Sevier County, Tennessee. Opened in 1986, it has become one of Tennessee’s most popular tourist destinations.

However, due to her tendency to get motion sick, Dolly has never been on a single ride in the park. She once revealed that the theme park had previously used several Dolly lookalikes wearing her signature wigs and outfits to ride a roller coaster while reporters watched.
