18-Year-Old Country Singer Earns 4-Chair Turn With Stellar LeAnn Rimes Cover
on Oct 15, 2024
The Voice returned on Monday, September 23, for its 26th season.
This season’s coaches include the reigning champion Reba McEntire, Gwen Stefani, and newcomers Michael Bublé and Snoop Dogg.
While Snoop Dogg might seem like an odd choice for a singing show, he has been in the music industry since the early 1990s. Snoop Dogg previously served as the show’s Mega Mentor for Season 20 in 2021. The announcement came on April 1, 2021, and they used the caption, “This is not a joke…”
Snoop Dogg proved he was a great coach during his time as a mentor, so much so that he was asked to return for a full season! He also blew people away during the coaches’ performance, released on July 26th. On YouTube alone, the video has over five million views.
A country darling turned all four chairs during her audition for Season 26 of The Voice.
18-year-old Katie O’s audition for The Voice comes just four months after graduating high school. She took the stage with all the confidence in the world and chose LeAnn Rimes‘ number-one hit, “One Way Ticket.”
Katie O’s powerful voice was perfect for the song, and she could show many different parts of her voice. She impressed the coaches so much that they all turned for her in a chance to battle it out to have Katie join their team.
Stefani was the first to run, followed by Snoop Dogg, then Michael Bublé. Reba McEntire held out for a while but finally turned for Katie during one of the choruses.
After Katie saw that Reba turned for her, her jaw dropped during the song!
Gwen was so upset that she got out of her chair to yell at Reba for turning!
Each coach put their best foot forward by complementing her stage presence and professionalism, and Bublé even tried to do a Southern accent to relate to her!
In the end, Katie could only choose one coach, and she chose…Reba!
Katie O previously auditioned for Season 20 of American Idol and made it to Hollywood Week.
Although she didn’t make it past Hollywood Week, Katie O continued her dream of becoming a country singer. In between her stint on American Idol and her audition for The Voice, Katie was honing her craft and performing live, even opening for singers such as Glen Templeton and Craig Campbell (“Outskirts of Heaven”).
