“Suzanne Somers passed away peacefully at home in the early morning hours of October 15th,” her representative shared, adding that Somers’ family will be celebrating her life instead of her birthday.

“…They will celebrate her extraordinary life, and want to thank her millions of fans and followers who loved her dearly.”

Suzanne will be laid to rest in a private burial service will take place this week and a memorial service will follow in November.

Somers had battled cancer twice before and revealed in July that it had returned.

She told Fox News Digital at the time that she had been living with cancer for decades and had been able to “keep it at bay” with the use of alternative and conventional medicine.

“Every time that little f—– pops up, I continue to bat it back,” she said. “As one of millions of cancer patients, we do our best not to let this insidious disease control us. I find bliss in each day. My husband has been by my side every step of the way, and my family has been so supportive. Thank you for the outpouring of love and good wishes.”

Suzanne Somers was perhaps best known for her role as Chrissy Snow in the sitcom Three’s Company which aired from 1977 to 1984. In the years following the success of Three’s Company, Somers made a name for herself as a lifestyle and fitness guru. With dozens of books on alternative medicine and aging to her credit, the “Step By Step” actress was an example of aging gracefully.

Suzanne Somers is survived by her husband of 46 years, Alan Hamel, and her son, Bruce Somers Jr.
