A house in Lincoln, Illinois, is going viral after appearing on the Instagram page, Zillow Gone Wild. The all-black home has garnered a great deal of attention for its gothic-style and unique shape.

When Seth Goodman purchased the home earlier this year for $75,000, he intended to update the property, but didn’t set out to make it all-black at first. In an interview with Insider, Goodman said that he had planned to only paint the roof black, but later decided to carry the color theme throughout the interior and exterior of the house.

“Although some may view it as dark, it is not once inside, given all of the natural light and overhead lighting,” Goodman said before adding that he absolutely is “not a goth.”

“It is simply a unique peaceful property, in my opinion,” he added of the home that is listed for $250,000.

The listing describes the home as a “mysterious black octagon shaped home on an expansive secluded .52 acre lot” with no square room and an extraordinary design. The two-story home features all of the expected amentities plus three decks, a 3+ car garage and “custom black window treatments, trim doors, pergola/firepit.”

Originally built in 1993, the 1500-square-foot property features two bedrooms, two bathrooms and an open living and dining area. Every wall and ceiling in the home are painted black, with the only white found on trim, bathroom shower tile, some flooring and countertops.

Commenters on the Zillow Gone Wild post on Instagram were humored by the neon signs found throughout the home…especially the one in the master bedroom that says “Don’t Fart.”

“The “don’t fart” neon sign in the bathroom is something I didn’t know I needed until now,” one commenter wrote. Another questioned, “If you can’t fart in the bathroom where can you fart?!?!”
