on Nov 15, 2025

Todd Snider, a singer-songwriter known for his profound influence on folk and Americana, has passed away at the age of 59.
Todd Snider’s team announced his death on social media Saturday morning (November 15).
“Aimless, Inc. Headquarters is heartbroken to share that our Founder, our Folk Hero, our Poet of the World, our Vice President of the Abrupt Change Dept., the Storyteller, our beloved Todd Daniel Snider has departed this world,” the post read.
“He relayed so much tenderness and sensitivity through his songs, and showed many of us how to look at the world through a different lens. He got up every morning and started writing, always working towards finding his place among the songwriting giants that sat on his record shelves, those same giants who let him into their lives and took him under their wings, who he studied relentlessly. Guy Clark, John Prine, Kris Kristofferson, Jerry Jeff Walker.”
Todd Snider was “violently assaulted” earlier this month.
On November 3, Todd sustained serious injuries after a “violent assault” outside of a Utah hotel. The incident forced the artist to cancel the remainder of his High, Lonesome and Then Some Tour.

Snider was later arrested, according to TMZ. The outlet reported that Snider was arrested after he was discharged from Salt Lake City Regional Hospital.
TMZ stated that Snider was asked to leave the hospital property after he allegedly began yelling and cursing at staff members. Snider left the premises, but later returned and directed verbal threats at an unnamed victim.
Snider was arrested that evening and booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for disorderly conduct, trespassing, and making a threat of violence. He was released the following day.
Upon returning home to Nashville, Todd was hospitalized.
Snider’s team shared news of his hospitalization, just hours before they announced his passing.
“We have some difficult news to share,” the post read. “After Todd returned home to recover last week, he began having trouble breathing and was admitted to the hospital in Hendersonville, Tennessee. We learned from his doctors that he had been quietly suffering from an undiagnosed case of walking pneumonia.”
The statement revealed that Snider’s condition had become “more complicated” and that he had been transferred to another facility for further treatment.
