Find Out Who Got Kelly Clarkson’s Vote For The ‘American Idol’ Finale
on Apr 07, 2016
After 15 seasons, American Idol is saying goodbye. Either La’Porsha Renae or Trent Harmon will be selected as the final Idol during the show’s much-anticipated finale Thursday (April 7).
The show’s first winner, Kelly Clarkson, is just as excited for the finale as everyone else. For the first time ever, Clarkson sent in her vote for the person she wants to be the winner.
Clarkson tweeted about her vote, saying that she never even voted for herself when she was on the show, but she felt so strongly about one of this year’s finalists that she had to send a vote in.
“I will be voting for @laporsharenae tonight,” she wrote. “I need her future record!“
I have never voted for anyone on @AmericanIdol not even 4 myself BUT I will be voting for @laporsharenae tonight. I need her future record!

Clarkson has made her feelings about Renae clear from early on in the competition. Back in February, Clarkson expressed how much admiration she has for Renae’s talent.
Okay if @laporsharenae doesn’t win Idol there’s something seriously wrong w/America! I mean, goodness! I stood up n my house, that’s right!

In addition to naming the winner of the show, the finale of American Idol will also feature a series of performances from some of their most successful alums, including Clarkson. That means the first Idol will be there to watch the show name the last Idol. We’re sure that will be an emotional moment for Clarkson, regardless of who wins.
Best of luck to both Renae and Harmon! Watch them perform a duet of “See You Again” in the video below.
What do you think? Did Clarkson vote for the right person?
