No matter what genre of music you listen to, Prince’s passing came as a shock to all and music will forever be changed. The world lost yet another legend, but his music and legacy will live on.

Many country singers idolized the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Famer and since the news of his death, they have tried to honor him by performing some of his well-known hits.

On the night of Prince’s death, Little Big Town sang a chilling version of “When Doves Cry” at their show, Darius Rucker performed “Purple Rain” after an emotional speech about his “absolute idol”.

We expect the tributes to continue and we love watching every single one. Not only are musicians covering songs that Prince performed, they are paying tribute with songs that he wrote for other artists.

Prince wrote many songs for other artists, one being “Nothing Compares 2 U”, made famous by Sinead O’Connor. It was released in 1990 and instantly became a worldwide hit. The song became the best-selling single of that year and the 82nd best-selling single of the decade.

The Dixie Chicks recently embarked on their first tour in ten years and they aren’t disappointing. At a tour stop in Denmark, they took a moment out of their show to pay tribute to a legend. The three singers sang an incredible rendition of “Nothing Compares 2 U”.

The audience was mesmerized by their version, which had a musical break of just violin, piano, and drums. You can hear the pain in Natalie Maines’ lead vocals.
