Find Out Why Gwen Stefani Calls Her Duet With Blake Shelton ‘Shocking’

NBC

When it was announced that Blake Shelton recorded a duet with Gwen Stefani on his new album If I’m Honest, no one was more surprised than Stefani, herself.

Entertainment Tonight‘s Katie Krause spoke with Stefani about their duet on the red carpet at KIIS FM’s Wango Tango over the weekend.

Stefani’s goal with her new album was to make something good out of something bad: her divorce. While she was going through a rough spot in her life, she and Shelton made a connection and began dating.

Their fears and insecurities of a new relationship were brought to life in their collaboration “Go Ahead and Break My Heart”, which they premiered last week and performed live on The Voice.

“Anytime I’ve ever collaborated with anyone, it’s always my favorite,” she admitted. “But to do something with him — because he’s so talented and comes from such a different world — to make music together, it was just so shocking!”

The two singers’ genres could not be more different, but somehow, they found a happy medium and produced a meaningful song, and it’s super catchy as well!
