We found out the title of the song a little before the album dropped when Shelton’s girlfriend, Gwen Stefani, tweeted a picture of the track list. “Doing It To Country Songs” featuring The Oak Ridge Boys was listed as the twelfth track.
“Look what I found lyin around the house,” she wrote. She also said she spotted her name next to their duet to “Go Ahead And Break My Heart.”

At last, the album release date came around and we were able to hear every track and we realized just how awesome this Oak Ridge Boys collaborations is!
“Doing it To Country Songs’ will have you nodding your head to the beat right off the bat. You’ll also be singing every lyric within the first few listens.
The song is a humorous take on the lyrics “Doing It To Country Songs,” where Shelton sings about everyday activities he enjoys doing while listening to country songs.
It is written by Paul Overstreet, who also co-wrote Shelton’s other double entendre song, “Some Beach.”
The Oak Ridge Boys provide their signature harmony and the song would not be the same without them.
