14-Year-Old Hits Jaw-Dropping Pair Of Notes At End Of National Anthem Performance

For years, Tegan Marie has been charming people worldwide with her covers of country hits. With a mighty fan base and nearly ten million views on her YouTube channel, Tegan is one of the brightest stars in the country music community right now.

What’s all the more impressive is the fact that Tegan has reached such a status at a surprisingly young age. You see, the skilled singer just turned 14 in October, and has been performing on national stages since she was 11. 

While Tegan has always generated a fair share of attention with her cover videos, her fame soared after she posted a cover of Florida Georgia Line‘s hit song “H.O.L.Y.” in June 2016. It remains the most-viewed video on her channel, with over 2.3 million views after a little over a year.

Thanks to the success of her “H.O.L.Y.” cover, Tegan has been given the chance to perform at a number of notable events and venues. On Saturday (December 16) she was honored with the opportunity to perform the National Anthem prior to the Detroit Lions and Chicago Bears game at Ford Field in Detroit. This performance surely meant a great deal to Tegan, since Michigan is her home state.

One attendee managed to catch a video of Tegan’s performance and shared it on YouTube. They were a bit too far away from the field to film her performance from there, but did catch some good footage from the big screen in the stadium.

For those who haven’t kept up regularly with Tegan since her “H.O.L.Y.” video, you’ll be surprised to see how grown-up she looks now! But one thing that hasn’t changed is her angelic voice, which is just as beautiful as ever.

Tegan took an elegant approach to her rendition of the National Anthem, and didn’t bother to dress it up with too much flair. Instead, she let the power of her voice speak for itself, especially on those tricky-to-tackle high notes at the end.
