Celtic Women Resemble Angels in Spiritual Performance Of ‘Amazing Grace’

“Amazing Grace” has no doubt been covered a multitude of times by an eclectic group of artists, but it has never been performed quite like this. In an epic performance complete with an orchestra and full-bodied choir, the ladies of the Celtic Woman band perform quite possibly the most angelic rendition of the classic gospel song.

After a professional bagpipe kicks off the performance with a solo of the introductory melody, one woman takes center stage debuting her God-given talent in a highly spiritual solo. The remaining three women join her on stage to harmonize the beautiful lyrics.

The Celtic Woman group is a female quartet band from Ireland. Before the formation of the band, the four women (Chloe Agnew, Orla Fallon, Lisa Kelly, and Meav Ni Mhaolchatha) had not previously performed as a group until they were recruited by the band’s creator, David Kavanagh. Since then, there has been a change in the line-up over the years.

Nonetheless, the group has embarked on multiple world tours and have sold over nine million records on an international scale.

With the group’s tremendous successes, they have won the title of Billboard‘s World Album Artist of the Year award six times. The girls continue to stun the world with their vocals as their most recent album, Ancient Land made its way to a top spot on the Billboard chart.

While the performance is surely a massive production, it doesn’t stray from the purity of the original.

Watch their stunning and truly moving performance below.
