Talking about picking up the pieces after his divorce and meeting the woman that would go on to become his girlfriend, this country star opens up about what his “rock bottom” was like.

Appearing on Chelsea Handler’s Netflix talk show, Blake Shelton, reveals to the host how much his newest album was directly influenced by his budding relationship with Gwen Stefani

The episode, scheduled for debut on Thursday, July 7th, had a preview clip published that shows Shelton telling Handler how he was able to pick up the pieces and rebuild – with Stefani’s help.

“It would have started last year when my marriage and everything just fell apart and then trying to pick the pieces up from being at the rock bottom and trying to move forward,” He says talking about the album’s beginnings.

But it was when he realized that his then-acquaintance, Gwen Stefani, was going through the same thing at the same time, that their relationship began to grow immensely.

“She [was] going through basically the same exact thing at the same time,” He continued. “And this is how my life turned around – so quickly too, by the way.”

All of this was meant to happen,” he concluded.

It’s very clear that Blake Shelton has been very happy with his newfound love and companion, and it’s incredible that they were able to forge such a connection with each other at very difficult points in their lives.

“It makes me nervous to talk about it,” he confessed, scared he might jinx the relationship. Handler then asked if this was the happiest he’s been in his life, Shelton replied, “There’s no question about that. Absolutely no question about that.”
