Bullied 18-Year-Old Brings Judges To Tears With Kelly Clarkson Song
on Feb 01, 2017
After posting several videos of her singing on social media, she started to get bullied by kids at her school and nearly quit singing altogether.
At just 18-years-old, Caitlyn Vanbeck was at the edge of giving up on her dream, but her father loved her far to much to let her do that. She’s always had a tight-knit family and has always been really close to her father.
Saddened by the negative comments from her peers, Caitlyn had a life-changing conversation with her father who reassured her and told her not to give up.
“Stop this,” he told her. “You are good enough.”
With that boost of confidence, young Caitlyn chose to audition for X-Factor in the UK and definitely made an impression!
Taking on Kelly Clarkson‘s heartfelt and emotional song, “Piece by Piece”, Caitlyn wowed all three of the judges with her incredible skill as a vocalist, but as she neared the end, something happened.
Caitlyn, singing through emotion, and eyes glossed over with tears began to choke up and had to restart one of her final lines…by this time, you could see her parents watching from the sidelines with tears in their eyes too.
Not only were her parents brought to tears with her incredible performance, but as she finished the last few lyrics, one of the judges was left visibly shaken and in tears by this young girls stunning performance and steadfast determination. Even Simon Cowell was moved by her dazzling talent.
