Chris Young’s 2016 Christmas album, It Must Be Christmas, hit stores a couple months before Christmas and when it did, it unveiled all his the guest artists. Young called on one of his musical heroes, Alan Jackson, to join him for an enchanting duet to “There’s a New Kid in Town.”
Jackson originally sang the touching Christmas tune with its writer, the great Keith Whitley, which debuted originally on Jackson’s first holiday album in 1993. Young and Jackson trade off singing the lyrics detailing the day Christ was born in Bethlehem.
Jackson is amongst a small handful of artists to join in on the festivities on Young’s album. Brad Paisley joined Young for a dazzling cover to “The First Noel.”
Boyz II Men are featured on a completely reimagined cover of “Silent Night.”
