At one of the most historic moments of the season, his eyes filled with tears as he watched one of the most beautiful tributes to his racing legend father.

2017’s Daytona 500 will go down in history as one of the most memorable moments in the history of NASCAR. While there was plenty of excitement on the track and the finish was something not many expected – it was the sentimental moment honoring the late Dale Earnhardt Sr. that will remain with fans for years to come.

This year’s race marks the 16th anniversary of the tragic passing of racing legend Dale Sr. during that exact same race in 2001.

In honor of the legend that we lost on that fateful day, NASCAR put together a heartfelt and tear-jerking tribute to Dale Sr. that was so moving it brought his beloved son, Dale Earnhardt Jr. to tears.

Featuring the newest single from fan-favorite country group, Zac Brown Band, the tribute was a collection of photos and videos showing the inseparable bond between Earnhardt Sr. and Dale Jr – all played to the tune of “My Old Man”.

In a tweet shortly after the video was released, Dale Jr. admitted that the memoir brought tears to his eyes and shared a link to the video with his fans.

It wasn’t just Dale Jr. that was brought to tears. Nearly every social media account that shared the video was filled with emotional comments and reactions from NASCAR fans and followers alike.
