Just one day after his death, Glen Campbell was laid to rest. A post made to Campbell’s Facebook page states that Campbell was buried Wednesday (August 9) in a private ceremony in his hometown of Delight, Arkansas.

Campbell passed away Tuesday (August 8) following a long and very public battle with Alzheimer’s. Glen’s family shared the news of his death in a statement issued posted to social media.

“It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and legendary singer and guitarist, Glen Travis Campbell, at the age of 81, following his long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.”

The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made in honor of Glen for Alzheimer’s research to the Glen Campbell Memorial Fund at BrightFocus Foundation through Careliving.org.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Glen’s loved ones during this time.
