In 1987, country fans were elated when The Nashville Network announced they would be airing a TV concert special featuring none other than Bocephus himself, Hank Williams Jr.

Titled Hank Williams Jr and Friends, Bocephus took the stage and performed some of his biggest hits to date with the help of his closest friends including Charlie Daniels, Gary Boggs, Pete Carr, Dicky Overby and more.

In the talent-filled evening, Hank Jr. performed his hit song “I’m For Love” for the adoring crowd.

I love to get down with the band, I like the play music, all kinds of music, and I can’t stand cats in the house, and I ain’t gonna go fishin’ in the rain. I’m just for love,” he said introducing the song.

Bocephus released this tune on May 11, 1985 off his album Five-0 and it quickly became his seventh No. 1 hit on the country charts.

Hank Jr. wasn’t even done singing the song and the crowd jumped to their feet to applaud the country legend. Watch the performance below and feel free to sing along. We know we did!
