Just a few weeks before the 2008 presidential election, Hank Williams Jr. showed his support for Sarah Palin, the then-candidate for Vice President.

At a rally in Colorado Springs, the country legend kicked things off with a riveting rendition of our nation’s anthem for the crowd. He took his signature hat off and used it to get everyone singing along.

By the time he sang the lyrics, “Oh say does that star spangled banner yet wave,” he had everyone cheering and singing the final lyric together. His passionate performance has been talked about since then, and we’re sure people will continue to for years to come.

Hank Jr. has always been unapologetically patriotic and that’s one of the many reasons he is one of our favorite country legends. Watch him perform the National Anthem below.

Hank Williams Jr. is hitting the road this summer and coming to a city near you – don’t miss your chance to see him LIVE! Tickets always sell out fast for such a legendary singer, get yours now by clicking here!
