No one is surprised that Hank Williams Jr. is appreciative of our military. He is one of the more outspoken and patriotic country stars.

On June 25, 1984, he performed a concert aboard the USS Constellation, a Kitty Hawk-class supercarrier. The Constellation, which was nicknamed “Connie” by the crew, proved to be one of the fastest ships in the Navy during a race held in 1985 and is officially known as America’s Flagship.

He walked onto the patriotic stage to face an audience filled with Navy service men and women, who sounded more than happy to see him.

“Welcome to the world’s largest floating party,” he said. “I’m honored to be aboard the pride of the United States Navy, America’s Flagship, the USS Constellation.”

He kicked off his performance with “Honky Tonkin'”, followed by “Dixie On My Mind”, “Women I’ve Never Had”, and a few other songs.

The 15-minute video is filled with versions of his own hits, as well as his dad’s. He captivated the entire audience while wearing a USS Constellation hat and played several different instruments in his set!
