Garth Brooks’ song “Mom” never fails to make us cry, and Home Free’s cover is no exception.

However, “Mom” wasn’t originally Brooks’ song. Wynn Varble and Don Sampson wrote it, and it was first recorded by rock icon Bonnie Tyler in 2013.

The world fell in love with Brooks’version, and it reached the 32nd spot on the Country Airplay chart. As for the GMA performance, it went viral online, adding to the popularity of Brooks’ recording.

Home Free has covered every type of song imaginable over the years. They’ve lent their voices to everything from Thomas Rhett’s “Die a Happy Man” to Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the U.S.A.” They also offered their take on Brooks’ “Mom.”

The group released a music video to accompany their version of the song. Fittingly, the video places the spotlight on mothers and their children. You’ll be smiling the entire time as you watch the mothers play and laugh with their kids.

Near the end of the video, each child displays a sign sharing why their mom is an incredible woman. You’ll find yourself tearing up as you read their heartfelt messages.
