An Emotional Song All About Moms

Garth Brooks had a special song to share with his fans during his appearance on Good Morning America in November 2014. That song was “Mom,” which Brooks eventually released as the second single off of his album Man Against Machine.

Despite popular thought, “Mom” wasn’t originally Brooks’ song. It was written by Wynn Varble and Don Sampson, and was first recorded by rock icon Bonnie Tyler in 2013.

The world fell in love with Brooks’ portrayal of the song, and it became a chart hit. As for the performance itself, it was a viral sensation online, further increasing the popularity of Brooks’ recording.

An A Cappella Rendition To Enjoy

As you would expect, “Mom” has quickly earned a status as the perfect country song to play for Mother’s Day. Since no one can ever seem to get enough of it, how would you like to hear another country version of the tune?

This particular version was recorded by country a cappella group Home Free. After winning The Sing-Off, the group established a strong fan base thanks to their impressive covers of popular country songs.

Home Free has covered every type of song imaginable over the years, from Thomas Rhett‘s “Die a Happy Man” to Lee Greenwood‘s “God Bless the USA.”

They also offered their take on Brooks’ “Mom,” and it’s just as stunning as you would expect.

The group released a music video to go along with their rendition of the song. Fittingly, the video focuses little on the group and places the spotlight on various mothers and their children. You’ll be smiling the entire time as you watch the mothers play and laugh with their kids.

By the end of the video, each one of the children displays a sign sharing why their mom is an incredible woman. You’re sure to have tears in your eyes by that point, because the messages they write are as sweet as can be.

Tune in below to watch Home Free’s heartwarming video for their version of “Mom.” Be sure to share it with the moms in your life!
