Jimmy Fallon Catches Willie Nelson Mid-Smoke During Unannounced Visit

One of television’s funniest funny men is Jimmy Fallon. The Saturday Night Live alum took over permanent hosting duties of The Tonight Show after Jay Leno retired in 2014 and quickly became one of the most beloved hosts in the show’s history.

Fallon brought his own unique twist to the late night talk show with with a fresh approach that includes SNL-esque sketches and guest-involved games. The incredible relationship Fallon has with his guests is evident night after night as celebrities are quick to bow to any request of Fallon’s even if that includes putting themselves in the hot seat and potentially embarrassing situations.

Over the years, some of our favorite celebrity appearances on The Tonight Show have come from country music artists, including Toby Keith, Brad Paisley, Luke Bryan, Blake Shelton, and Carrie Underwood.

In 2016, country legend Willie Nelson made a brief cameo appearance in a humorous skit in which Jimmy Fallon drops by Nelson’s tour bus unannounced. Fallon proceeds to try to converse with a silent Nelson, who only nods and smiles in response as his eyes begin to well up with tears.

“Thanks so much for having me on the tour bus before the show. I mean, this is awesome. The tour bus looks great. I guess this makes it very easy to, uh, go on the road again,” Jimmy joked as Willie merely winked and nodded. “I was thinking maybe after the show we could get something to eat. Maybe get some Italian? Chinese? Thai?”

Eventually, the slightly puzzled Fallon dismisses himself, but not before Willie lets out what he’s been holding in. The video below is one you’ll have to watch more than once as it gets funnier each time.
