There’s no doubt that talent runs in the Hough family. Siblings Julianne and Derek Hough are both accomplished dancers, actors, and singers. Julianne even released a chart-topping country album in 2008, which features a duet with her older brother.
It seems that the Hough siblings can also add “professionals at lip syncing” to their extensive resumes, as they proved during an appearance on a popular Spike television series. Called Lip Sync Battle, the series is just as described. Celebrities face off against one another by lip syncing to popular songs, and often include props, costumes, and choreography in their battles.
Julianne and Derek squared off against one another on the series in 2015, and you can bet that they brought their A game. Knowing how talented both Hough siblings are at singing and dancing, it was going to be a tough decision to pick the winner.
Derek started off first, lip syncing to “Can’t Hold Us” by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, featuring Ray Dalton. Since the song is a rap song, Derek knew he had to step it up, but he met the challenge full force. In addition to mouthing the words with precision, he also threw in a few fun dance moves. He put so much effort into his performance that he fell to the floor when he was finished.
No one knew how Julianne was going to try and top that, but she had some tricks up her sleeve. She decided to lip sync the mega hit “All About That Bass” by Meghan Trainor, and she nailed it! Besides throwing in some out of this world dance moves of her own, Julianne brought Meghan herself out on stage to join her in the battle.
Derek knew at that point he had been beat! The Hough siblings competed in one more round of competition, but even that wasn’t enough for Derek to make a comeback. Julianne ended up winning the battle, but Derek’s lip syncing skills can’t be ignored.
