Kelly Clarkson Performs Rendition Of Patsy Cline’s “Walkin’ After Midnight”

For years and years, Kelly Clarkson has been taking fan requests at every concert. It’s a chance for her to cover an artist she looks up to and have a little fun while she’s at it.

Luckily for us, a lot of these fan requests are country songs. She has covered Trisha Yearwood, Garth Brooks, Tammy Wynette, Wynonna Judd, Shania Twain, Keith Urban, Dolly Parton, and more.

At this certain performance, which was at the Clearfield Country Fair a few years back, she sang one of our favorite fan requests she’s ever done.

She asked the crowd, “Anybody here like Patsy Cline? If you don’t you’re crazy!” Great choice of words, Kelly!

She tells the crowd she knows this song is a classic and if you’re a Patsy fan, you’re going to like her songs sung in the classic way. That’s not how Clarkson is, though.

She changes every song she covers to fit her style and her voice.

Clarkson begins singing a soulful version of Cline’s hit song “Walkin’ After Midnight” and we were mesmerized.

We love Patsy’s original version, but Clarkson’s rendition is edgy and new, and we love it!

Watch her perform “Walkin’ After Midnight” below.
