Nashville Man Wows ‘The Voice’ With Energetic Cover Of Current Country Hit

Season 11 of The Voice is proving to be one of the best yet in terms of talent. For country fans, there are plenty of contestants to root for, including one man who earned a spot on Blake Shelton‘s team.

25-year-old Josh Gallagher moved to Nashville two years ago in order to pursue a career in country music. It was clear from the start of his audition that country runs through Gallagher’s veins, as he gave his performance everything he had.

Gallagher sang “Stay a Little Longer” by Brothers Osborne, which peaked at the fourth spot on the Hot Country Songs Billboard chart. From the start, it was clear that the coaches were digging what they were hearing, but they all hesitated to push their buttons.

There was no denying the fact that Shelton was going to turn around for Gallagher, it was just a matter of when. Once he finally turned around it seemed that Gallagher’s already energetic performance went up a notch, which caught the attention of Alicia Keys, who turned around right before he finished.

Miley Cyrus and Adam Levine were both too intimidated to turn their chairs, feeling like the devoted country boy was a shoo-in for Team Blake. Keys put up a good argument, but Shelton ended up winning his way into Gallagher’s heart, and he picked him as his coach.

Now watch the audition that landed Gallagher a spot on Team Blake! With a voice like that, he’s guaranteed to go far!
