Pentatonix Puts Unique Spin On Holiday Classic ‘God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen’

The Grammy-winning a cappella group Pentatonix stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live to perform a song from their brand new album, A Pentatonix Christmas on Wednesday night (Dec. 7).

Their album includes holiday standards such as “White Christmas”, “I’ll Be Home For Christmas”, “O Come, All Ye Faithful”, and “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen”.

Kimmel introduced the five talented singers and they began performing their unique rendition of “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen”. They began in four part harmony and it sounded just like we remember from church.

When their percussionist, Kevin Osula, came in, that’s when the song was taken to a whole new level. They sped the song up, slowed it down, did lots of cool things with their voices, and each of the five members were given a chance to shine.

Sometimes, it’s hard to remember that their music is made with just their voices and that there isn’t a full band backing them!

Watch their performance below.
