Radio Host Pranks Country Star With Most Awkward Interview Ever

Nick Kessler, radio host for Albany, New York’s WGNA, sat down with country star Mike Eli of the Eli Young Band for an interview that is sure to make you cringe. Kessler’s job was to make Eli as uncomfortable as possible and he succeeded in a big way. 

The two men sat down in the back seat of a Subaru and the cameras started rolling. Immediately Kessler tells Eli that this was only his third interview then calls the star by the wrong name. Mike Eli quickly corrects the radio host.

After a series of retakes and some fumbling, the interview takes off again and Eli seems to know that something is up when the radio host asks him if the interview is the weirdest thing he’s ever done in a Subaru. Eli responds, “Maybe this interview is, but this Subaru isn’t quite as awkward.”

Kessler gets up close and personal with Eli as he touches his arms and lifts up his sleeve to check out his tattoo. Things only get worse when the host offers suggestion for an extended version of the Eli Young Band’s hit song “Drunk Last Night” then asks the singer if the back of one’s knees should be called “knee pits.”
