Apart of her sold-out two night headlining debut at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium, Reba McEntire enlisted Trisha Yearwood and Kelly Clarkson to join her on stage for a moving performance of “Softly and Tenderly.”
Those in the audience got to lay witness to a true master at work, as McEntire delivered two full hours of her greatest hits in addition to a selection of songs from her gospel album, Sing It Now: Songs of Faith & Hope. In addition to a series of riveting performances, concert goers also got the opportunity to listen to McEntire entertain with stories gathered throughout her lengthy career.
“Thank y’all very much for the kind reception that we’ve been getting off this album so far,” she said regarding her faith-driven album according to CMT. “It’s touched my heart more than you know. … I’ve had a lot of changes in my life over the last two years, and people ask me how did I get through it, and I can honestly say that it was my faith, my family and my friends.”
The three powerhouse vocalists’ performance of the emotional hymn was nothing shy of perfection, their vocals meeting in perfect harmony.
