In 1969, Creedence Clearwater Revival released a song that went on to become one of their biggest hits. Called “Bad Moon Rising,” the rockin’ tune climbed to the second spot on the U.S. charts, and topped the charts in the UK.
47 years later, CCR’s mega hit took on new life when two of Blake Shelton‘s team members tackled it for their battle round on The Voice. Austin Allsup faced off against Preston James, and no one was sure what to expect as the two entered the ring.
Whatever expectations the coaches and crowd had, Allsup and James blew them out of the water. Their performance was a vocal showcase filled with power, leaving the coaches visibly impressed.
Needless to say, Shelton had a difficult choice ahead, and his fellow coaches weren’t much help. Miley Cyrus got all tongue-tied trying to tell him who he should pick, first saying he should go with Allsup and then changing her mind to say James. Adam Levine, couldn’t even make a choice between the two!
When it came time for Shelton to make his decision, he said the winning contestant’s name, and the crowd went wild. Tune in to the clip below to watch the battle and find out who Shelton picked.
