The Cyrus Family Wears Mullets And Sing “Achy Breaky Heart” For Carpool Karaoke

Late Late Show host James Corden took the world by storm with his show’s segment “Carpool Karaoke.” The segment features a series of different celebrities taking on their own songs from the passenger seat. The first-ever “Carpool Karaoke” with George Michael incurred hundreds of millions of views on YouTube since its debut. Quickly catching attention from the media, streaming service Apple Music decided to make a complete series surrounding the segment.

A Cyrus Family Reunion

Gearing up for the release of their 2017 episode, members of the Cyrus family thrilled fans with clips from one of the most anticipated episodes of the series. One of the most buzzed about topics surrounding the Nashville family’s appearance on Carpool Karaoke was whether the entire clan would do a sing along to Billy Ray‘s iconic “Achy Breaky Heart.” Well, the Cyrus’ did not disappoint.

During her appearance on The Elvis Duran Show in late 2017, Miley Cyrus revealed they would be singing along to all of their respective hits, including the song that etched her father’s name into the genre of music forever. Miley uploaded a sneak peek from their episode featuring the entire Cyrus family rocking out to “Achy Breaky Heart,” donning mullets and fake teeth for the occasion.

Cyrus Carpool Karaoke

Ridin’ around town, the whole Cyrus clan including all the siblings took on the famous tune. With Miley in the front seat and Billy Ray in the middle row, the talented family sang in perfect harmony together. When it came time for the chorus, the youngest sibling, Noah, counted down the family to their big finale. All at once, the Cyrus family rocked their dad’s rockin’ hit. The clip ended with Miley admitting,

“That was one of the best days ever.”

Chart-Topping Hit

“Achy Breaky Heart” transcended genre barriers, going on to become the first country song since Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers‘ 1983 hit, “Islands in the Stream,” to be certified platinum.
