Miranda Lambert, Chris Young, and Jerrod Niemann took the stage in Amherst, Massachusetts and gave Waylon Jennings’ classic, “Honky Tonk Heroes,” a high-energy makeover.

“I have to say I’m sorry that you’re not drinking, BUT I think they have been,” Miranda jokes to kick off their party-starting tribute to Jennings. “So why don’t you share?!” she shouts before grabbing Niemann’s drink out of his hand and taking it for herself.

The onstage trio stays true to the rebel-like attitude of the original in their performance, with the three passing back and forth a drink throughout their lively performance.

The song was released in 1973 and gave the name of the album (Honky Tonk Heroes) which is considered to be the turning point for Jennings’ reputation. The album added to Jennings’ outlaw image while also contributing to the the development of the growing “outlaw sub-genre” within the world of country music.
