‘Voice’ Standout Leaves Judges Speechless With Chris Stapleton Hit

This cattle rancher is proving over and over again that he belongs on the stage and not on the ranch.

Josh Halverson’s Blind Audition on The Voice knocked the socks off all the coaches and turned three chairs – Miley Cyrus, Alicia Keys, and Blake Shelton. Shelton tried to play the country card, which Halverson was trying to get away from, so he clearly was not the right coach for him.

He ultimately chose Keys, who coached him through the Battle Rounds, where he performed a riveting cover of “House of the Rising Sun” with fellow teammate Kylie Rothfield. It seemed like an impossible decision for Keys, who, after much deliberation with herself, chose Rothfield.

Halverson wasn’t down for the count, though. Cyrus stole him almost as soon as Keys chose the victor! Now on Team Miley, Halverson had to make it through the Knockout Rounds to make it to the live shows.

He performed “Whiskey and You”, made famous by Tim McGraw in 2007 and written by country standout and reigning CMA Album of the Year winner, New Artist of the Year, and Male Vocalist of the Year, Chris Stapleton.

Halverson’s eerie twist on the popular song left the coaches speechless, with his own saying, “Damn!” at the end. He is an incredible storyteller and you can feel every emotion he is trying to convey in his performances. Even his competition, Aaron Gibson, looked worried.

We don’t know why Cyrus did not choose him as the winner of the Knockout Round, but fret not, Halverson fans! His former coach, Alicia Keys, snatched him back up! One of the last times someone was stolen twice and ended up back on their original coach’s team was Craig Wayne Boyd. And if y’all remember correctly, he won Season 7.

Watch his incredible performance below and you’ll understand why it’s one of the top trending videos on YouTube.
