Carrie Underwood Receives Mixed Reviews After Unexpected Limp Bizkit Cover

Carrie Underwood performed a few unexpected covers when she headlined Velocity Festival, which took place over Labor Day Weekend at the Field Of Dreams movie location in Dyersville, Iowa.
She became the first woman to headline a concert at the iconic location. Check out the full three-day lineup below.
During her headlining set, underwood sang her hits songs including “Cry Pretty,” Good Girl,” “Wasted,” Blown Away,” “Last Name,” and “Something In The Water,” and “Before He Cheats.”
She also included some covers that no one would expect.
Carrie Underwood Performs Unexpected Rock Songs
Thirteen songs into her set, Carrie Underwood transitioned from her normal country repertoire to a section of rock songs. This fit perfectly because the other bands at the festival were rock bands!
In fact, she flew in to the festival early to watch Shinedown’s set on September 4th, which inspired her to try some new things in her set the following day.
Underwood began her rock section with “Shine” by Collective Soul then moved on to Papa Roach’s “Scars.”

She then performed Linkin Park’s “One Step Closer” and closed out her rock section with Limp Bizkit’s “Break Stuff.”
During this song, she wore a red backwards baseball hat, similar to the one Limp Bizkit lead singer Fred Durst wears.
Fans began posting her cover of “Break Stuff,” and it received some mixed reviews.
Because Limp Bizkit is such a far departure from her normal catalog, fans online had mixed reviews. Many commented that they appreciated her censoring the bad words out of the song, while others asked her to not cover this band ever again.
Regardless of what anyone says, it’s always hard to take a risk and we applaud Carrie for trying something new!
