Catherine’s Cause Of Death Has Been Released

Nearly two weeks following her passing, her cause of death has been officially released.

TMZ released a report today saying that the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office listed O’Hara’s cause of death as pulmonary embolism, or a clot in her lungs, with an underlying cause of rectal cancer.

The actress did not publicly disclose the cancer diagnosis, so the cause of death might come as a shock to fans.

Her death certificate also states that she was cremated and her remains were given to her husband of 34 years, Robert “Bo” Welch.

She is also survived by her sons, Matthew Welch and Luke Welch. When asked which role she wants to be remembered for, her answer wasn’t one of her iconic TV or movie roles. She said she wants to be remembered for being a mom.

Our thoughts and prayers remain with Bo, Matthew, and Luke, and all who loved her.
