“Taps,” a bugle call traditionally played at military funerals and memorials, holds a special place in the hearts of Americans.

Its origins can be traced back to the American Civil War, where it was used to signal the end of the day and to pay homage to the fallen. “Taps” was composed by Union General Daniel Butterfield to replace the formal “Lights Out” call.

Over time, “Taps” has become synonymous with honoring the bravery and sacrifice of those who have served in the armed forces. Its haunting melody evokes a sense of solemnity and gratitude, making it a fitting tribute to those who have given their lives in service to their country.
