Chick-Fil-A Employee In Lynchburg, Virginia, Plays “Taps” On Memorial Day

In honor of the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for freedom, a Chick-fil-A Employee in Lynchburg, Virginia played “Taps” on Memorial Day. 

This act of remembrance, captured in a video shared on the company’s Facebook page, reminds us of the honorable sacrifices made by military members.

The marketing director of the location could be heard sharing behind the camera.

“We just wanted to take time to honor all of our military today. For those who gave their all serving our country…Thank you all. God bless and have a wonderful Memorial Day.”

“Taps” – A Bugle Call Traditionally Played At Military Funerals and Memorials

The origins of “Taps” can be traced back to the American Civil War, where it was used to signal the end of the day and to pay homage to the fallen. The call was composed by Union General Daniel Butterfield to replace the formal “Lights Out” call.

Over time, “Taps” has become synonymous with honoring the bravery and sacrifice of those who have served in the armed forces. Its haunting melody evokes a sense of solemnity and gratitude, making it a fitting tribute to those who have given their lives in service to their country.
