The chicken-based fast food restaurant chain is now providing drone delivery at a ‘small number’ of Chick-fil-A locations.

Residents of Brandon, Florida, now have the exciting opportunity to have their next Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich delivered by drone. The Brandon/Valrico Chick-fil-A location in the Tampa Bay area recently announced on its Facebook page that it is offering free drone delivery to its customers.

On Monday, the franchise shared the news, stating, “Drone delivery is now available at Chick-fil-A E. Brandon/Valrico only! For a limited time, order Chick-fil-A Delivery and enjoy a $0 delivery fee.”

To utilize this innovative delivery option, customers simply need to choose “Chick-fil-A Delivery” when placing an order through the app. Although the specific delivery radius of the drone was not disclosed in the post, the restaurant mentioned that there is a limit to the delivery distance.

Chick-fil-A clarified that drone delivery is only operational during specific hours, specifically from Monday to Friday, running from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

In a Facebook post, the E. Brandon/Valrico restaurant provided an insider’s perspective on the delivery operation.

Once an order is made through the app, Chick-fil-A employees carefully pack the order into a white box. This box is then securely fastened to a drone, which transports it to the designated delivery location. Upon reaching the destination, the drone gently lowers the box to the ground, allowing the customer to retrieve their order with ease.

However, Chick-fil-A did not clarify the specific locations where the testing of drone deliveries is taking place.
