Clint Eastwood has shown an inclination for finding new talent in the film industry, and Eduardo Minett is his latest discovery.

Minett was cast to star opposite Eastwood in Warner Bro’s Cry Macho, which Eastwood is also set to direct. The film will be Minett’s first English-language feature, and the young actor will share the screen with an experienced cast, including Dwight Yoakam, Natalia Traven, and more.

Winding down film and production in New Mexico, Cry Macho follows a washed-up rodeo star and horse breeder who takes a job from a former boss. The ex-rodeo star, played by Eastwood, is tasked with bringing the man’s son home and freeing the boy from his alcoholic mother.

The movie will follow the pair’s challenging journey and offer Eastwood’s character a chance for redemption.

Minett is predicted to make an excellent addition to Eastwood’s star-studded cast. Eastwood’s skill for finding talent is visible in movies such as the 2008 film Gran Torino, in which Eastwood introduced newcomer Bee Vang. While Cry Macho will be Minett’s first American role, the young actor has starred on Mexican TV shows such as Como dice el dicho.
