The CMT Music Awards arrived a little early this year! On April 11, 2022, they were held  at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium, as well as at multiple other locations around Music City.

With over two dozen performers on the lineup this year, many were excited to see Texas country singer Cody Johnson perform his hit, “‘Til you Can’t” on the big stage!

Johnson was nominated this year for Video of the Year and Male Video of the Year for “‘Til You Can’t,” and CMT Digital-First Performance of the Year for “Dear Rodeo.” So far, he has won both of the latter categories!

Taking the stage wearing his signature cowboy hat and a button-up with a blazer, Johnson delivered a performance worth watching over and over again.

“‘Til You Can’t” was released as the lead single from Human: The Double Album. The music video was released a few days before. Of the video, Johnson tells Sounds Like Nashville, “I love the story line in the video. You think it’s going in one direction and then suddenly you are surprised at the turn of events. When they sent me the rough edit of the video it was so powerful and brought tears to my eyes. It put into perspective the song that I had been singing for months.”

The single hit #1 on both the Billboard Country Airplay and Hot Country Songs chart.
