Turning Point USA Co-Founder Charlie Kirk Was Shot And Killed In Utah On September 10th
Country music stars join the millions of people mourning the loss of Charlie Kirk.
31-year-old Kirk was a conservative political activist, the co-founder of Turning Point USA, and the CEO of Turning Point Action. He also hosted a daily radio talk show, The Charlie Kirk Show.
Kirk married former Miss Arizona USA Erika Frantzve in 2021. They shared two children, a daughter (age three) and a son (age one), whose names they chose not to reveal publicly.
Kirk was speaking at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, on Wednesday (September 10th) when he was shot.
At 4:40 PM ET, President Donald Trump shared that Kirk died:
“The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead. No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie,” President Trump said.

Turning Point USA released a statement about Kirk’s death, writing:
“May he be received into the merciful arms of our loving Savior, who suffered and died for Charlie. We ask that everyone keep his family and loved ones in your prayers. We ask that you please respect their privacy and dignity at this time.”
Country Stars Share Emotional Reactions To Charlie Kirk’s Death And Send Prayers To His Family
Many of country music’s biggest stars reacted to Charlie Kirk’s death in posts on social media. Several artists met Kirk and knew him personally, which made it even harder for them to process the news of his tragic death.
Singers also shared their prayers for Kirk’s family, especially his wife, Erika, and their two young children.

Jason Aldean
Jason Aldean shared a photo of himself and his wife, Brittany, with Kirk. He said:
“Charlie Kirk was one of the kindest, smartest and bravest people I’ve ever met. I’m honored to have met and spoke with him on a few occasions. He was a man of peace and wanted nothing but the best for our country and its youth.”
Lee Brice
“The fact that this man of faith was taken from this world today is not something we can understand,” wrote country star Lee Brice regarding Kirk’s death. “It’s something to stop and pray about. Something to lean upon our faith about.”
Lauren Alaina

Writing on her Instagram Story, Lauren Alaina said:
“My heart aches for his family. My heart aches for this country. My heart aches for change. Let’s lift his wife and children up in prayer.”
Lee Greenwood
“God Bless the U.S.A.” singer Lee Greenwood said, “It’s heartbreaking to think our world has come to this. Every time I saw [Kirk], I felt such pride in his vision and strength.”
RaeLynn
Country star RaeLynn shared her reaction to Kirk’s death and her prayers for his wife, Erika, whom she considers a friend. RaeLynn said:
“My beautiful, courageous, incredible and Godly friend lost her husband and her two beautiful babies lost their father today. He was shot not while holding a weapon but by holding a microphone. He didn’t attack anyone he just spoke and debated people using a right we all have which is freedom of speech.”
Gary LeVox
Rascal Flatts singer Gary LeVox wrote, “One thing for sure, that tonight, Charlie walks hand-in-hand with Jesus on the streets of gold and was greeted with a white robe as Jesus looked him in the eyes and said job well done my good and faithful servant.”
Randy Houser
Country star Randy Houser asked the questions many others have asked since Kirk was killed. Houser said:
“Who are we? What have we become? This is what political division has created. The media have profited from the great separation. We have been played like a gimp fiddle. I’m sick to my stomach. A young man with kids to raise is dead for speaking his mind as a Christian Conservative.”
Parker McCollum
Parker McCollum expressed feelings of shock and disbelief in his tribute to Kirk, writing:
“I don’t even know what to say anymore. Charlie was one of the greatest young patriots this country has ever seen. Thank you for standing up for what so many of us believe so strongly.”

Country star Josh Turner wrote on his Instagram Story that he felt “Shocked, appalled, angered, and saddened” over the news of Kirk’s death.
He also shared his prayers for Evergreen, Colorado, where two high school students were wounded in a school shooting on September 10th (the suspect died of self-inflicted wounds).
Kane Brown
Kane Brown shared an emotional video reacting to the news of Kirk’s death. In the clip, Brown said, “At the end of the day…all I want is for everybody to love each other. That’s really all I want.”
He continued:
“Left side, ride sight, black, white, different language speaking, different country living—just love each other. If you see somebody down, please pick them up.”
